Village Players is excited to open our 51st season with Neil Simon's classic farce, Rumors, directed by Anne Harper. It runs from Friday, September 6, to Saturday, September 28.

Chris and Ken Gorman are the first to arrive at a 10th anniversary dinner party only to find that their host, deputy Mayor of New York City Charley Brock, is unconscious after having “accidentally” shot himself in the ear, while his wife Myra is missing. To avoid a scandal, they begin to cover up what they assume to be the truth of the situation. As the rest of the guests arrive the story of Charley and Myra’s anniversary evening gone awry grows and develops. In the end all the guests are complicit in a cover-up that no one even really understands, but the fantastical events of the evening are hilarious and give a rich basis for great characters doing what Neil Simon does best – making the mundane…insane!
