Pinocchio takes the stage August 14 - 17 in Port Dover & features a cast of talented, local youth who've spent months rehearsing to entertain you and your family!

"There was the dream to create a production of Pinocchio," says Marcus Lundgren, Pinocchio's director. "The writer adapted the story and gave words for the characters to say and problems for them to overcome. The director took those ideas and organized them so the actors playing the characters would know when to enter, where to stand, and why they would say those words. The set designer created the world of the story on stage, and the costumer made each character look different. The lighting designer added special lights and the sound designer added sound effects and music while the stage manager made sure it all came together in rehearsal." He continues "You [the audience] are the magic ingredient because now that we get to share this story of Pinocchio with you...dreams really do come true!"

Young Company features youth ages 11-17 who have participated in our three-week summer theatre program learning the behind the scenes magic of creating live theatre.

Carved by the kind toymaker Geppetto, Pinocchio embarks on whimsical adventures, accompanied by his trusty conscience, Jiminy Cricket. But here’s the twist – his nose grows when he fibs! From the lively streets of his village to the magical wonders of Pleasure Island, Pinocchio learns valuable lessons about honesty and friendship. With a sprinkle of fairy dust and a pinch of laughter, Pinocchio shows that being true to yourself makes for the best story. So, gather ’round for a tale filled with joy, courage, and the magic of becoming a real boy!
