Ottawa: Plosive Productions presents three live episodes of the 1940s radio show “SUSPENSE” starting October 28
Thursday, October 29, 2020
Prior to the pandemic’s second wave, Plosive Productions and The Gladstone had hoped to be able to offer a return to the theatre with a special Hallowe’en Edition of our annual Radio Show. While that production has to wait for another time, we invite you to listen to an “unstaged” reading by the cast of the material we were preparing. So please tune in from home—for free!—just like families did in the Golden Age of Radio.
Just in time for Hallowe’en, we’re bringing the stars of Old Time Radio back from the dead! Plosive Productions offers you a series of readings from our annual Radio Show with a spooky twist. Travel back in time to 1944 as we recreate three of the scariest episodes from the top thriller series of the Golden Age of Radio, Suspense:
October 28 Alfred Hitchcock’s Jack the Ripper tale The Lodger with Peter Lorre
October 29 The First Lady of Suspense Agnes Moorehead in the proto-feminist spook story The Yellow Wallpaper
October 30 The goofy yet ghoulish Ghost Hunt starring comedy legend Jack Benny

If you can’t catch a stream live, you’ll be able to watch after the fact at any time through November 8.
